Razer Phone 2 to be introduced on October 10th

We all know very well that Razer carries a respectable history in the world of PC Gaming, after being the first to launch a mouse for gaming, high-end, in 1998. While the invite doesn't explicitly mention the anticipated Razer Phone 2, it does promise a "mobility showcase".

Razer today (Sept. 14) sent out save-the-date invites for an October 10 press event in Los Angeles.

Right in between Google's October 9 event and Samsung's October 11 event, Razer has decided that it would be a good idea to squeeze right in, not to outdo Microsoft on October 2 or anything.

In an earnings call over a week ago, the company confirmed that it was indeed working on a second generation Razer phone, though no specs were detailed at that time.

To recall, Razer Phone (1 gen) sports a 5.7-inch IGZO LCD screen with 1,440x2560 pixels (513 ppi pixel density). The hardware will be on par with other flagship Android smartphones, if not better. We've been hearing that Razer might try and integrate their LED lighting into the device, which I think would be pretty cool, but for the most part we're in the dark until Razer sheds some light on their next smartphone. While the company doesn't straight up say what it's planning to announce, we can see the outline of a phone around the Save the Date, suggesting that a new Razer Phone will be the focus.
