A "Tonight Show" spokesperson said it "decided to cancel" Macdonald's appearance in light of his comments in the press and "out of sensitivity to our audience". His latest book had its forward written by Louis CK, and in the text, he heavily paid tribute to the disgraced, Roseanne Barr, both stars who have had controversial incidents in late 2017 and 2018.

According to MacDonald, people who are in the public's radar are rarely given second chances, and the first reaction they often have is to deny all allegations, for fear of immediate retaliation. "That's my guess. I know a couple of people this has happened to". But you know what? Realizing they were facing an impasse, "Jimmy said, 'Come back whenever you want, but I think it will hurt the show tonight, '" Macdonald related.

As of now, Norm Macdonald Has a Show is still scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 14.

Norm Macdonald onstage at the "Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget" on the Warner Brothers Lot on August 3, 2008, in Burbank, California. It looks like it will arrive with its own share of controversy, however, as the comedian just dropped some unfortunate takes in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Now it's admit wrongdoing and you're finished.

"They ask you questions that maybe you don't want to answer", Macdonald said. And so the only way to survive is to deny, deny, deny.

Macdonald said he knew of two people whose lives and professional careers have been upended after their actions sparked outpourings of criticism: C.K. and Barr.

"That's not healthy", he concluded, "that there is no forgiveness. But she was just so broken and just crying constantly", Macdonald continued to THR.

"There would be no way for me to even understand that advice, because who has ever gone through such a thing?" he said.

Unfortunately, Macdonald may not have helped his case by also telling Stern that he'd "have to have Down syndrome to not feel sorry" for the victims of harassment and adding, "Down syndrome, that's my new word".

Norm Macdonald said women upset by Louis C.K.'s recent surprise set at the Comedy Cellar should be paid $200 so they "could get through the trauma".
