Chelsea must remain focused after global break Maurizio Sarri

It's been a rough beginning for Cardiff, as they've only managed to secure two points in their first four games.

More history could have be made on Saturday as Watford also began the season perfectly, with four wins in four.

Chelsea and Liverpool continue to throw down the gauntlet to Premier League champions Manchester City as all three were victorious on their return to Premier League action on Saturday.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri believes Eden Hazard is capable of scoring 40 goals this season after revising his opinion of "maybe" the finest player in Europe.

Eden Hazard is now the top goal scorer in the Premier League. "I think Hazard can improve more". The Spaniard is Chelsea's vice-captain, in Cahill's absence, he steps into the role. "We need to improve, but we are able to and can improve very quickly".

Hazard struck twice in seven first-half minutes to put Chelsea in control at Stamford Bridge after Sol Bamba's volley gave Cardiff the lead, and he converted a penalty 10 minutes from time to make sure of the win before substitute Willian curled in a late fourth.

While the Blues have managed to adopt Sarri's offensive tactics very well, with the club now having made the most passes of all Premier League sides with 2,995 and a passing accuracy of 89% (equal to Manchester City), the Italian feels that there is still room for improvement, particularly on the defensive phase of their game - something he had earlier mentioned needs a complete change of the mind.

However, the visitors had to see out a nervy final few seconds when Erik Lamela skillfully volleyed home from a narrow angle and Son Heung-min had a penalty appeal waived away with the final attack of the game.

"Chelsea is his home, of course". However, they shouldn't underestimate Cardiff. Pedro caused plenty of problems but was very wasteful with his shooting, whilst Giroud proved an excellent provider with two assists but failed to register a shot on target himself.
