The grim reaper has an upcoming trip to "Modern Family".

At the risk of playing the most morbid game of Guess Who? ever, which "significant character" do you predict will meet an untimely end in Season 10?

Its been reported that a "significant character" will die in the 10th season of the much-loved family comedy, which is set to air in the U.S. at the end of this month.

Lloyd would not reveal who the character is, but said it's a significant character and their death will impact several episodes of season 10.

The suspense is already driving us nuts!

"We're handling some bigger life events this season".

'But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it'.

The 10th season of the show premieres later this month. Though he wasn't making any promises, Lloyd told EW that "there's goodwill on both sides" to secure a renewal, and he believes "there's a decent chance we'll see it happen". The show stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Sarah Hyland, Sofia Vegara, Ariel Winter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Nolan Gould, Ed O'Neill and Rico Rodriguez. I hope there is.

While the program is entering the a year ago of its contract, Lloyd is optimistic that "goodwill on both sides" will extend the show's life ― even if one character's life is being cut short. "I'm hoping that we have some news on that [soon], and if it winds up that we tried and just couldn't make it work, we will have a great final season for sure".

However, he made it clear that he'd return if ABC asked them to mush on past Season 10, but he's also willing to say "goodbye" to the hit series after a ten-year run.
