During the hottest hours on Saturday, tens of thousands of people are expected to attend hundreds of "families belong together" rallies in cities across the country to protest President Donald Trump's controversial immigration policy. "The humidity on top of the near record temperatures will be a nasty combination".

"Safety is everyone's responsibility, so we remind everyone to stay hydrated and check on our neighbors and family", said Rich Guidice of the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

"If people are outdoors, hydration is a must".

Typical highs for the region this time of year are in the low 80-degree range, according to Kennedy. "It's just a good thing to do in the heat".
