Guests included newlyweds the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

But the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh did not attend, with the decision made "some time ago" and not on health grounds, Buckingham Palace said.

Uncle Harry has also promised to build the little prince a library in memory of his late mother, Princess Diana, according to the Sun U.K.

Louis' christening today marks the first time we've seen all five Cambridges out in public together, but it isn't the first time the infant has been seen with Princess Charlotte.

As Kate chatted to the archbishop while holding Louis, she could be heard describing her sleeping son as "very relaxed and peaceful".

It's also been the site of several royal weddings, including the marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840, and the nuptials of King George V and Princess Mary of Teck in 1893.

The Palace confirmed that the hymns were, "O Jesus, I Have Promised" and "Lord of All Hopefulness", with the lessons being from St. Mark 10: 13-16, read by Miss Lucy Middleton, and Ephesians 3: 14-19, read by Mr Guy Pelly.

Wearing an adorable blue and white patterned dress - she wore an nearly identical version of the look in July 2017, while on a visit with her parents to Berlin - the royal teamed the look with a matching blue bow headband in her hair. Kate wore a white McQueen outfit with a headdress by Jane Taylor.

While it was widely reported that the 36-year-old recycled the look from her daughter's christening at Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding in May, eagle-eyed fans noted subtle differences.

From the duchess´s side, Kate´s parents Michael and Carole, brother James, sister Pippa and her husband James Matthews were to attend.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose hymns O Jesus, I Have Promised and Lord of All Hopefulness for the ceremony.

Britain's Prince Charles, Prince of Wales (R) and Britain's Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall arrive for the christening. The new version was made by the Queen's dresser, Angela Kelly.

Following the service, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will give a private tea at Clarence House. He is fifth in line to the throne. During the ceremony, his seven godparents were also named, including Prince William's cousin Zara Tindall and many of their closest friends.
