Netflix is testing some new plans. Here's what they do

The tests could spell out another new pricing model change for all Netflix users

Netflix (NFLX) shares rose 2 percent Thursday to close at $398.39. But if you want the best out of your Netflix subscription, you must be willing to pay a bit more in the near future. The Basic is priced at $7.99, allowing the users to use Netflix at one screen at a time without any HD facilities. People will no longer be able to write their feedback on a show, and in mid-August, people will no longer be able to read existing user reviews on Netflix either, CNET reported.

Netflix spokesperson Smita Saran weighed in: "We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time".

Netflix is also planning and testing various versions of plans that could get the HDR videos on the Ultra pack, so that it could stand different and higher above the current premium plan.

It's called the "Netflix Ultra".

Love binge-watching Netflix? Well if you are a subscriber to the company's Premium plan, you might end up shelling out more for the service.

As more homes get 4K Ultra HD TVs capable of displaying HDR content - about 31 percent of US homes now have 4K Ultra HD TVs, according to the Consumer Technology Association - some Netflix subscribers would be willing to pay more for the best quality video in the Ultra plan. Unfortunately, this means they are cutting back the Premium tier from four streams to just two streams.

Wall Street analysts have said that Netflix has enough pull for testing out these higher prices.

Before, Netflix was going on about with its three-tier subscription that included the Basic, Standard and the Premium.

But not every Netflix price increase has gone smoothly. There have been speculations that chordcutting.com is testing two prices in Germany which are 16.99 United States dollars and 19.99 USD; so, Netflix also will be tinkering with its prices for new plans.

In 2011, Netflix lost 800,000 USA subscribers when it raised the prices for its plan offering streaming video and DVD rentals from $9.99 to $15.98.
