Juventus president Andrea Agnelli had visited Ronaldo's hotel room in Greece for discussions, whilst Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes was believed to be meeting Real Madrid to seal the deal.

It is at that meeting where it is believed the transfer was finalised with Ronaldo surrounded by his girlfriend and family, who is now on holiday with him. The madridists will always remember you. And one of the first to take to Twitter to wish the five-time Ballon d'Or-winner well was now-former team mate and Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos.

Ronaldo scored 451 goals in nine years for Real to become the club's record goalscorer.

Ronaldo's future has been a big source of speculation this summer and it appears that the 33-year-old is set to leave Real Madrid after nine years in the Spanish capital.

"But I think the time has come to start a new phase in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept my transfer. I feel that it is time, and I ask everyone, especially our fans, to please understand me".

Ronaldo himself has penned a letter to the Madrid fans, thanking them for the time he spent. He helped the club win four Champions League titles - beating Juventus in the final in 2017 - and also won the league and cup twice each.

It has been widely reported that a deal worth £105m has been agreed between Juventus and Madrid that will end Ronaldo's nine-year stay at the Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on the move, and the soccer world is bound to shake.

Portugal's Last 16 defeat to Uruguay was Cristiano Ronaldo's 38th game in World Cups/European Championships - no player has played in more across the two competitions (level with Bastia Schweinsteiger).

Although Ronaldo isn't showing any signs of slowing down at the moment - he hit the top sprinting speed of the 2018 World Cup, at 34 km/h - surely even he would have little resale value so close to his forties.
