Gal Gadot proved to be one hell of an Independence Day weekend surprise on Friday when she dropped by a children's hospital dressed as Wonder Woman.

Gadot recently paid a visit to the hospital in full costume as the Amazonian warrior princess. Out of the several films tied into the DCEU, Wonder Woman has been the most praised, by far.

Finally, we got a little sneak peek at the title character as Gadot posted pics of the character.

'Dear @GalGadot- Thank you SO MUCH for visiting my patients and colleagues at #InovaChildrensHospital! "Next time, can you align your visit with my call schedule?" Entertainment shows Gal Gadot in a scene from "Wonder Woman", in theaters on June 2. A sequel to Wonder Woman, titled Wonder Woman 1984, is set to hit theaters next year and is now filming in Washington DC and Virginia. In one particularly mysterious image, Wonder Woman is looking at a bank of TVs, each playing something different from the era. "This film is set in the '80s, she has to deal with the temptation of our world and face extraordinary odds".

Dropping by the Inova Children's Hospital in Annandale, Virginia, it was clear the kids were delighted with a real-life super coming to wish them well.

Repeatedly referred to as Wonder Woman '84 by director Patty Jenkins on Twitter, fans and journalists alike have followed the film's progress in and around the Washington D.C. area, where it has been filming.
