"You can see him as a prisoner, or a god, or just as a person."OK, well, it did not occur to me to see him as a god until you said that, but fine, I guess that's not too weird."I like Conor McGregor".

According to Versus, a Lithuanian artist, Edgar Askelovic, living in Birmingham has gifted former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor a 16 stone (roughly 224 pounds) sculpture, which will be on display at London's JD Malat Gallery until McGregor's 30th birthday this July.

"If not Conor, if not GSP, I think Alvarez vs. Poirier, I think the victor deserves a title shot", Nurmagomedov told Anatomy of a Fighter recently (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting).

"He is a phenomenon of our time - not just a smart athlete", Askelovic said.

"The Notorious" has not fought since he won the UFC lightweight belt, back in November 2016, to become the promotion's first ever reigning double champion in two weight classes.

McGregor has not fought since his boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.

The artist will also make two other versions of the sculpture - one for sale and the other for future exhibition.

"It's really phenomenal. And, of course, someone made a decision to immortalize it in this way".

"It's up to you what you see in it", Aspencrow said.

Aspencrow admitted he had neither met nor spoken to McGregor directly, communicating instead via one of the fighter's friends. "I feel he's my soulmate".

McGregor turns 30 on July 14 and is likely to celebrate big like he has in the past. "I don't know what's going to happen - is he going to get fined, be on probation, is he going to get this, that - when that is over with, then we will start talking about him fighting".
