Özil's tournament was problematic on and off the field, as he became a scapegoat for Germany's dismal tournament, and his father has said he was "offended" by the nature of some of the criticism.

But Emery insists he can help Ozil recover his best form.

The Spanish manager however revealed that the gunners could still be open to a move for another player in this summer transfer window if the right opportunity comes so the gooners hope that the Arsenal team signs Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi. I help them. For us, Mesut is a very important player, we want to help [him].

Arsenal are likely to want to tie the Wales worldwide down to a new contract or sell him this summer, rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year's time.

"I explained to him my opinion and how I wanted to create the team and that I said to him I was unsure if he is going to play in the XI players".

"And the quality of the worldwide players, we want them to come quickly and to start with us". I want to work with him in a new way, and with an ambition for continuing with his quality [and] getting better in the team.

"Now it's a new way".

"I know this player here is important for the supporters and grew up here in Arsenal but I don't give him one place in the starting XI and it is for that [reason] he chose to leave here and I respect also this".

"I want him to be tranquil and calm, and when he comes back to start hard". With quality work it is very easy to arrive at the performance, individual and collective.

"We want the global players to come back quickly and start practising hard with us".

Özil, like all the players, was granted a summer break of between three and four weeks.
