Said and done. Seconds later, Kaitlyn realized she couldn't pull her head out, so she was stuck there for nearly an hour, until firefighters came and power-sawed her free.

Kaitlyn soon discovered her head did indeed fit - then realised she was unable to take it back out again. But it wasn't the first time she had stuck her head in the pipe that day, KARE-TV reported.

Kaitlyn Strom was attending the Winstock Music Festival in Winsted, near Minneapolis, and having fun with friends.

Although she was unharmed by her close encounter with the inside of a tailpipe, the McLeod County Sheriff's Office cited her for underage drinking, according to The Associated Press.

A brief video of firefighters working to free the teen posted Saturday to Facebook by Billy Little has been viewed more than 2.2 million times.

The 19-year-old told the Hutchinson Leader she was stuck for about 45 minutes until firefighters were able to cut the pipe and free her head.

Strom didn't expect to go viral, but she's not surprised. "Some people can be really cruel".

Strom added that she didn't know the owner of the truck.

"I remember getting my head unstuck, and I just looked at him and apologised, and he said, "No, I'm just glad you're OK".

The girl later posted a photo of herself holding the dismantled tailpipe to Facebook, writing "Yeah I'm the tail pipe girl, whatchu know about it?"
