Cheered to the ring during a ring-walk which included a clip of Afroman's "Because I Got High" - presumably a sly dig at the drug-testers who contributed to his period of inactivity - Fury turned on the full pantomime act in the opening three minutes.

I learned two and a half years is a long time to be out.

Tyson Fury's return to the boxing ring was marred by freakish crowd trouble, which saw fight fans turn on each other and brawl in the middle of the Manchester Arena.

Seferi, who had campaigned nearly all his career as a cruiserweight, was never going to trouble the 6ft 9ins Fury by whom he was out-weighed by more than four-and-a-half stone, and the favourite was clearly capable of ending the fight at will.

"The opponent was small and light". I'll go home tonight and have a pizza and then I'll get back on it.

It was always comfortable for Fury in his first fight since winning the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) titles from Ukraine's Wladimir Klitschko on points in November 2015. I won't take anything for granted and I'll enjoy every moment.

Frank Warren, promoter to both Fury and Frampton, confirmed that the heavyweight would appear on the Belfast bill as he continues his comeback.

"I'm not going to say I wasn't nervous, coming back and being the main event".

"I've been realistic from the beginning that we're not going to put him in with big names early on". He needs to be in the ring regularly.

With blood streaming down his face, the former lightweight title holder Flanagan (33-1, 13 KOs), who suffered a deep cut on the forehead after an accidental head butt in the seventh round, couldn't overcome the aggressive Hooker (24-0-3, 16 KOs), who just like training partner Errol Spence Jr., had to travel overseas to win his first world title. They're all bums anyway - Wilder, Joshua, Parker - they're all s***.

Fury, who is 28 pounds heavier than when he fought Klitschko, will be encouraged by his performance, but victory should be kept in perspective.
