"I didn't invite LeBron James, and I didn't invite Steph Curry", Trump said.

Stephen Curry and LeBron James spoke their minds past year.

"If they don't want to be here, I don't want them".

Trump's decision didn't come as a surprise after he withdrew his invitation to the Warriors following their 2017 championship, and his stance this year likely didn't matter.

Both the Golden State Warriors (who led the National Basketball Association final three games to none going into Friday night's Game 4) and their opponent, the Cleveland Cavaliers, have said the series victor would go to the White House.

"That's typical of him", James said in response to the Eagles' rescinded invitation, according to Sports Illustrated.

"You know my attitude: If they want to be here (the White House) - it's the greatest place on Earth - I'm here", Trump said. "It won't be Cleveland or Golden State going", James said.

Trump did hint that the Capitals, who won the Stanley Cup, would be invited. "If they don't want to be here, I don't want them". At the time, James took to social media to support Curry. This is not a change in tone or new direction the White House will be taking-though I'm sure Fox "news" will play it up, lavish praise at such a benevolent president, and show how deserving he is of the Nobel prize. "But I think more importantly we shouldn't, as Americans and especially the people in Philadelphia, shouldn't let that news take away from what that unbelievable team did and accomplished".

James' comments came amid the flap involving the National Football League champion Philadelphia Eagles, who did not make a White House trip this year.

More recently, the White House canceled an anticipated visit by the Philadelphia Eagles after the National Football League champions tried to reschedule and said they would "send only a tiny handful of representatives".

Just this week, the president abruptly uninvited the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles from visiting the White House, in part because they planned to bring a "smaller delegation" rather than their full team.

"I agree with Bron", Curry said.

"I didn't invite LeBron James, and I didn't invite Steph Curry".

"By not going, hopefully that will inspire some change in terms of what we tolerate in this country", Curry said.

Trump's attacks on kneeling football players always draw applause at his rallies and he has urged fans to leave a game if they see a player kneeling.
