Not content to just tell us that Fallout 76 will be online and launch this year, Bethesda's Todd Howard let us know that we'll be able to get our hands on the game a bit earlier with a B.E.T.A. version. The game will be four times as big as Fallout 4 and is set in West Virginia.

According to the fresh trailer and information provided by Bethesda, Fallout 76 is set on Reclamation Day, 2102, twenty five years after the bombs fell, you will emerge from Vault 76. We did get to see a few mutants and some power armour, so it's not all different. Howard mentioned during Bethesda's presentation that they have completely overhauled the game's graphics engine, which allows for "16 times the detail" and players can "even view distant weather systems across the map". You can still play and quest solo, but playing with others will have its advantages. Featuring PvPvE gameplay, players can choose to work together or kill one another in this world. Besides the regular release, fans of Fallout have placed pre-orders for the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition aka Fallout 76 Collector's Edition in huge numbers. Furthermore, the game is being powered by all-new visuals, lighting, and landscape technology, resulting in the most 'dynamic world ever created in the Fallout universe'. You can team up with others and build anywhere in the hills of West Virginia, or be a lone gun and try to survive all on your own.

This special edition of the game will also include a steel case, a canvas West Tek Duffel Bag, Tricentennial Edition bonus digital items, and 24 collectible Fallout figurines. Powered by your Pip Boy, it will certainly be unusual to play a Fallout without V.A.T.S. We will update this the moment it is made available.

"Fallout" fans - and anyone who enjoys video games at all, really - should mark your calendars for November 14, when "Fallout 76" is released.

Also, dying in Fallout 76 doesn't mean a loss of progression or a loss of your character.
