Insomniac’s Spider-Man has tons of classic villains

E3 2018: See all the best from Sony's showcase

After Sony's PlayStation E3 2018 conference concluded, we were able to get hands-on with one of the studio's most anticipated games: Spider-Man.

An achingly lovely trailer was debuted on the Sony stage last night, showing off the new title set in feudal Japan. Instead of opting for a flashy, non-stop barrage of highly anticipated E3 2018 games, Sony opted to take things slow during the PlayStation E3 2018 press conference. Swing freely through Marvel's New York City in epic action set-pieces filled with a rich narrative and relatable characters.

Ghost of Tsushima is the newest of the four games, and having only just been announced at Paris Games Week a year ago with a brief teaser, it was intriguing to see what this game was actually all about. Looks like among the tasks we'll have to perform there is even lockpicking handcuffs.

Players will take on the role of a samurai, exploring the open world regions during a Mongol invasion. Because of this, many of us can't wait for it to come out. The footage introduced to the game four classic villains: Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion and Electro, in addition to the already announced Mister Negative.

Spidey gets the crap beaten out of him before the trailer teases the reveal of one more villain. Theories have already begun to emerge as to who the mysterious figure is, with Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus being the likely contenders to round out the Sinister Six. Many of these are villains that this version of Spider-Man had put in prison during the eight years he's been active, further emphasizing that this is a highly experienced web-slinger.
