Donald Trump Blames Democrats For His Border Baby Snatch Policy

Melania Trump 'hates' to see children separated from families at US border

Several religious groups, including some conservative ones, have pushed to stop the practice of separating immigrant children from their parents.

She, too, put the onus on Democrats, saying if there are serious about overhauling the system, "they'll come together again and try to close these loopholes and get real immigration reform".

"Without him coming to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, I don't think we'd have that sort of maximum pressure, if you will, to get us across the goal line, and I anticipate on Tuesday that he's going to be the leader he is and we're going to get something passed out of the House", said Mr McCaul.

Occupants at Casa Padre, an immigrant shelter for unaccompanied minors, in Brownsville, Texas are seen in this photo provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, June 14, 2018. She is seeking Republican support. Nielsen insisted there was little the President could do to end the practice, which she pinned on existing law. She says she's memorized the phone number, and at one point, rattles it off to a consular representative.

"I went to a lot of years of Sunday school".

Fox News host Dana Perino reacted to the release of jarring and heartbreaking audio of children who had been separated from their families sobbing at a detention facility near our nation's border. And while some officials were doling out snacks, the outlet claimed that many children "were inconsolable". Ginger Thompson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and former New York Times bureau chief in Mexico City, who reported the piece, wrote that the audio was provided to her by Jennifer Harbury, a well-known civil rights attorney who has worked on border issues in Texas for decades. That person "heard the children's weeping and crying, and was devastated by it".

Government statistics indicate that, so far, almost 2,000 children were separated from their families over a six-week period in April and May.

Inasmuch the law that enables authorities to separate families crossing illegally into the United States has been in the books through Democratic and Republican administrations, it is President Trump's (and his Attorney General Jeff Sessions') "zero-tolerance policy" that has resulted in hundreds of children, some of them toddlers, being separated from their parents in heart-rending scenes that had outraged much of America and the world.

There is no such law. The figures are for people who tried to enter the US between official border crossings.

"I would like to take one minute and say something directly to President Trump", he said in a Monday interview on Fox News' "Fox & Friends".

The separation of thousands of families at the country's border began with Attorney General Jeff Sessions's announcement of a "zero-tolerance" policy this spring.

Sessions responded to a Texan archbishop's criticism of the policy last week by citing a verse from the Book of Romans that says God ordained laws from the government "for the objective of order".

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders added that it was Mr. "It's a moral policy to follow and enforce the law". Has anyone been looking at the Crime taking place south of the border.

"The United States", he said, "will not be a migrant camp and it will not be a refugee holding facility".
