Drivers in Croydon were stunned as the road rage incident unfolded before them.

Terrifying footage has emerged of a furious cyclist pulling a knife on a driver after nearly being knocked off his bike.

Brandishing the knife, he kicks the vehicle and slashes at the windows while the driver remains inside the vehicle. The attacker eventually gained entry by breaking a window, but the driver escaped and ran out the side door and up the block.

A crowd of onlookers watched as the angry cyclist continued his assault while the driver remained inside the vehicle.

Police in England are looking for an enraged cyclist who appeared to attack a driver with a large knife.

Anyone who recognises the man in the video, or who witnessed the incident and has information which could help police, is urged to call 101.

"Police were called on Wednesday, May 30 at around 5pm to reports of males smashing a auto window in London Road, Croydon".

With the driver a sitting duck, the cyclist jumps of his bike, brandishes a huge knife and begins smashing at the vehicle window.

'The victim, a 19-year-old man in an attempt to escape collided with another vehicle, exiting on foot.

"The victim later returned to the scene to speak to officers but the suspect made off from the scene", a Metropolitan Police spokesperson told the Croydon Advertiser, adding that no one was injured in the attack.

The chilling attack comes amid a knife crime epidemic in London that has so far claimed 43 lives this year.

'No injuries were reported and no arrests made'.
