"The Latino community was very important to him because in the kitchens of NY there are many Latinos", Medina said.

"He had everything", she said.

Bourdain apparently took his own life last week while in France filming an episode of his CNN series Parts Unknown near Strasbourg.

We're working on a more detailed remembrance of Anthony Bourdain, involving you (the community).

In a 2016 episode of Parts Unknown, Bourdain traveled to Argentina for psychotherapy.

Prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny spoke with media after French authorities concluded their investigation into the Parts Unknown host's death and revealed their conclusion that Bourdain's suicide was hastily done. Mr. Bourdain was found in his hotel room at Le Chambard, a luxury hotel in Kaysersberg, a village in the Alsace region of eastern France, according to a prosecutor in the nearby city of Colmar.

On the network, anchors struggled to hold back tears as they recalled their late colleague in heartfelt recollections and urged people faced with despair or who know people who are struggling with depression to call a suicide hotline. I really can't talk about him.

Many other celebrity chefs came out in support of the star. Bourdain explained to People, "We both work a lot and we're both away from home a lot so we're both circus freaks in the same circus-or different circuses I guess".

Asia Argento, his girlfriend, also released a statement saying how sad she had been to hear the news. "His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds", she wrote in a note shared on Twitter. He was my love, my rock, my protector. My thoughts are with this family. "My love and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones".

Torn notebook pages and Post-it notes taped to the shuttered restaurant windows included messages such as "You made me feel normal" and "Thanks for making the world a better place".

Bourdain's mother, Gladys Bourdain, told The New York Times that Ripert had told her that "Tony had been in a dark mood these pats couple of days", but she had no idea that her son might have been thinking of suicide. "I suggested the Culinary Institute and that's how it all started".
