US Ambassador to Israel Shares Message for Palestinians

Palestinian demonstrators gather during a protest against U.S. embassy move to Jerusalem and ahead of the 70th anniversary of Nakba at the Israel Gaza border in the southern Gaza Strip

The protests on the border were heightened due to the moving of the United States embassy to Jerusalem.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and government spokesman Bekir Bozdag wrote on Twitter that the violence came after "unjust and unlawful decisions", in reference to Washington's relocation of its embassy. The targets included military training facilities belonging to Hamas. Since the protests began in late March, dozens of Palestinian protestors have been killed and more than 2,300 have been wounded. "I don't care how many are killed because they are using these protests to terrorize Israel. This is a propaganda attempt", Shah said.

The timing of Monday's events was deeply symbolic to Israel and the Palestinians.

"We will stay peaceful with our hands like this", he said, lifting them to the sky.

Tuesday brings no relief, as it's "Catastrophe Day", Israel's 70th anniversary.

Last Friday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh took part in the protests, arriving at the northern part of Gaza border to encourage the rioters. Let every Islamic terrorist hear this message: "Israel lives", said Hagee.

More than 50 Palestinians were killed Monday in mass protests along the border with Gaza as Israel celebrated the U.S. Embassy's contentious move to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv. The move itself Monday was met with cheers and deadly chaos. A reporter saw two men who tried to advance further being shot in the legs by Israeli troops. Earlier Monday, Israeli drones dropping incendiary material had pre-emptively set ablaze some of the tires collected in advance by activists. The IDF also says it foiled an attack by three armed Palestinians near Rafah, close to the border with Egypt, during "a particularly violent demonstration". "Hamas [which controls Gaza] plans to carry out a massacre in Israel".

Florida Governor Rick Scott attended the ceremony in Jerusalem. Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin headed the U.S. delegation to Jerusalem.

The club announced the change in a statement on Facebook on Sunday, a day before the official opening of the new US embassy, saying it wanted to pay tribute to Trump's "courageous move". Previous presidents had signed a waiver postponing the move, citing national security.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry, in a statement, voiced "strong denunciation" of Israel's use of force against Palestinian civilians and said Cairo "totally supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and first and foremost its right to an independent state with East Jerusalem [al-Quds] as its capital".

The Palestinians see East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state. It is a law that presidents - Democrats and Republicans - have chosen not to enforce until President Trump declared it time to follow the law.

"We're expecting the great march on the 14th and 15th of this month - the entire Palestinian people will be out on the streets of Palestine", he said.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said more than 1,600 had suffered injuries, and that numerous dead had not yet been identified.

"The Palestinians should understand this was not meant to provoke them", Friedman noted. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump's "bold decision" in upending decades of USA policy by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

"Opening the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish people and the State of Israel, symbolizes the enduring friendship between our nations", said Frankel in a statement released by her office.

While the president was not in attendance during the dedication ceremony, he was represented by his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
