"But now I KNOW because it was ME!"

Her publicist has since confirmed the tweets do indeed belong to Perrette, though she will not be commenting on the matter again. The actress posted a series of cryptic tweets which had her followers confused.

She then pondered if remaining silent did more harm than good, but claimed the reality was she had no choice as she was protecting the jobs of the cast and crew.

However, her next tweet strongly suggested that the incidents in question took place on the set of NCIS. If it's school or work you're required to go to?

Following her divorce to actor and musician Coyote Shivers in 2004, Perrette was granted restraining orders against him after stating he put her through physical, emotional, and sexual abuse during and after their marriage.

She added, "Maybe I'm wrong for not "spilling the beans" Telling the story, THE TRUTH". Just...? ... There is a "machine" keeping me silent, and feeding FALSE stories about me. "I left. Multiple Physical Assaults".

Pauley Perrette starred as the beloved character since the show's premiere.

"A very rich, very powerful publicity "machine", she tweeted. No doubts, no duty to real truth, also I'm only abandon, studying the slips, trying to secure my own crew.

Perrette has unfortunately been dealing with negativity in her life for some time, and after recently announcing she was leaving "NCIS", claimed that her decision to quit was based on "Multiple Physical Assaults".

The actress did not identify who she is accusing for the alleged assaults.

What, exactly, happened on the set of N.C.I.S. to make Pauley Perrette leave after so many years? Stay protected. Nothing really is really worth your safety. "I don't know", she continued.

As earlier reported, the star claimed at that her choice to abandon was made the preceding year also that it was simply the ideal time, immediately after 16 years in the series, for her to step aside for new matters. "And I say, 'thank you, ' and I say, 'I love you, guys, ' because I do".

A rep for CBS did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment, nor did a rep for producer and co-star Mark Harmon.
