Last year's anniversary event also gave users a free loot box for every day you logged in. New items include eight Legendary skins and three Epic skins, and additional dance emotes for Doomfist, Moira, and Brigitte. To celebrate the popular game's second birthday, Blizzard is holding an anniversary event that will include a new Deathmatch map, Petra, and more than 50 new cosmetic items to collect. Titled the Legendary Edition, it'll come with the base game, of course, as well as 15 extra skins, all which will be a variety of Legendary, Epic, and Origin skins. Additionally, a new Competitive Mode is being added to Deathmatch.

Petra is the new deathmatch map, the second Blizzard has made specifically for the mode.

Special loot boxes will also be making a appearance with Legendary Anniversary Loot Boxes guaranteeing players some rare content.

Finally, Blizzard will offer yet another free weekend for Overwatch that runs May 25-28. Loot box shennanigans not included, I've gotten a lot of playtime out of it.

The Overwatch Archives event may be over but it looks like the upcoming Anniversary event is going to start this month. All players will be able to claim a "Legendary Anniversary Loot Box" with at least one guaranteed Legendary item inside, and all previous seasonal event loot will be available in loot boxes during the event in case you want to buy any of those things. So if you haven't played Overwatch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC yet, that'll be your chance.
