Neymar named Ligue 1 Player of the Year as PSG dominate awards

PSG chairman says Neymar to stay next season

PSG chairman says Neymar to stay next season

Neymar is reportedly exhausted of speculations linking away from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid and Manchester United. "Personally, it is not a moment for me to speak about anything", Neymar said. He had surgery in Brazil in March and has resumed light training and ball work as he bids to be ready for the World Cup, which starts next month in Russian Federation.

It is believed the 26-year-old is seeking a move to his former club's LaLiga rivals Los Blancos, but PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has shut down reports that Neymar is on his way out.

His PSG teammates Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe were also nominees, along with Marseille's Florian Thauvin. "I hope to continue and why not try and become the first to ever win three of these".

"Everyone knows what I have come here to do, the goals I have", he said.

Mbappe, 19, was also included in the Ligue 1 best XI, along with teammates Cavani, Marco Verratti, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves and Marquinhos to fill seven of the 11 berths.

However, PSG once again fell short in Europe after going out in the last 16 of the Champions League for the second straight season. Quadruple-winning PSG unsurprisingly scooped the big prizes as Unai Emery was named coach of the year and seven PSG players made the team of the season.
