Netflix and ESPN Films are teaming up to produce a documentary series about Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, ESPN and Netflix announced Tuesday.

ESPN and Netflix are planning a 10-part documentary on Jordan called "The Last Dance".

Jordan has signed off on the series and will feature alongside some of his teammates in that period.

The 14-time All-Star, 10-time scoring champion, five-time regular-season MVP, six-time NBA champion and six-time NBA Finals MVP is now the principle owner of the Charlotte Hornets. The documentary will focus on his time with the 1990s Chicago Bulls team and examine the rise of Jordan and the National Basketball Association during those years.

The Last Dance is slated to premiere across Netflix in 2019.

In terms of its narrative and aesthetic approach, the documentary will cipher through over 500 hours of unaired footage from the Chicago Bulls' championship run in 1997-98.

Michael Jordan will be returning to the world of film - and it won't be in Space Jam 2. In 2006, Jordan became a part-owner of the then-Charlotte Bobcats, before purchasing a controlling stake in 2010.
