The Congress said that Karnataka Vala should not resort to a "perilous path" by not inviting the JD (S)-Congress coalition, which has clear majority, to form the government in the state. Elections to two seats are yet to be held.

JDS Leader Kumaraswamy addresses the media.

The BJP has emerged as the biggest party with 104 elected legislators in the recently concluded elections. MLA R Shankar who had contested as an Independent candidate has officialy given his support to BJP, thus increasing BJP's tally to 105.

A careful look at the Karnataka election results reveals the divided nature of the mandate the voters delivered on May 12.

Elections were conducted for 222 out the total 224 assembly seats.

Kumaraswamy said the Governor told the delegation that after consulting legal experts on the Supreme Court judgments, he would "come to a decision and inform us about it".

While BJP claims to have the support of 4 MLAs from Congress, it still needs to get four more MLAs. We bow our heads to the verdict.

"We are confident of forming a government". They have accepted our offer.

JD (S) second-in-command HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday questioned how the BJP could from government with just 104 MLAs and warned the saffron party against engaging in "Operation Kamala", a euphemism for poaching elected legislatives from rival parties to achieve majority in the house.

On Tuesday, the Congress had extended its unconditional support to the JD-S to form a government in the state. We are going by the rules. The Congress claims The Congress, in spite of being the single largest party, was not called to form the government, and there was a Supreme Court order affirming the decision of the Goa governor. As far the trends are concerned, BJP has got a huge lead in the state and is expected to form the government.

As projections after voting showed a hung Assembly, Mayawati asked her close aide and party Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth, who is also Karnataka BSP in charge, to meet Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. If Yeddyurappa gets to form the government, as is widely expected, then it would make it even more hard for BJP to find new allies in the state. As uncertainty looms large, the allegations of "horse-trading" MLAs' have been made from all the three parties.

Kumaraswamy, on the other hand, trained his guns firmly on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Our majority is established".

He led the BJP to power the first time they won in Karnataka in 2008 and has also served as chief minister.

All eyes on Governor, but isn't delaying decision also an "action"? Honourable Governor Shri Vajubhai Vala will administer the oath. Vala has decades of experience of India's political scenario, having had an illustrious career in Gujarat's BJP leadership.
