BALTIMORE (AP) - Kentucky Derby victor Justify has arrived at Pimlico Race Course, full of energy in advance of Saturday's Preakness.

After Apollo's win, no other horse who hadn't been raced by age 2 won the Derby. Justify has proven he can win, even in less-than-ideal track conditions.

Justify is expected to remain a favorite two weeks after beating Good Magic by 2 1/2 lengths in the Kentucky Derby.

Justify broke the curse, and now has an even stronger trend backing him heading into the Preakness Stakes. That race was run on a sloppy Churchill Downs track.

In the latest Triple Crown News Minute, Scott Jagow and Ray Paulick discuss the top storylines for the 143rd running of the Preakness Stakes.

The Kentucky Derby victor comes into Pimlico Race Course as the overwhelming favorite to win from an eight-horse field.

Baffert is in pursuit of his seventh Preakness win and his first since American Pharoah won in 2015 on his way to a Triple Crown, writes Brian Zipse for Derby Day Racing.

At Churchill Downs, Justify got a flawless ride from jockey Mike Smith, who will back in the irons at Pimlico. If he wins it, and he's a favorite to do just that, then the public's interest in horse racing will be peaked as he takes his Triple Crown quest into the final jewel race - the Belmont Stakes.

The morning line odds had Justify as the chalk at 1-2, and that number made Baffert wince a little.

"Don't you dare let that horse run".

Justify and Good Magic are the two big-name horses in the field for the Preakness Stakes, but there's another worth keeping an eye on as Saturday's race inches closer.
