Ambati Rayudu slammed his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) century on Sunday as Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the Maharashtra Cricket Association's International Stadium in Pune. He was struggling and was playing at a score of 2 runs after 9 balls.

In what turned out to be a must-win clash for Dhoni's men, it was a walk in the park as the CSK batsmen never gave SRH a chance for a breakthrough throughout the run-chase.

The things started the ideal way for the superkings as both of their openers Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu were enjoying the Hyderabad bowlers.

Williamson felt his team's bowlers did not get the sort of movement their rivals obtained initially.

Shikhar Dhawan (79) and Kane Williamson (51) earlier added some runs with their willows as they posted 179 runs on the scorecard.

However, although Dhawan and Williamson both accelerated superbly in the second half of the innings, a slow start against the swinging ball ultimately proved costly for Hyderabad as second-placed Chennai comfortably overhauled their total.

The Sunrisers, who have already qualified for the play-offs, remained on top of the table with 18 points from 12 matches while CSK are at second spot with 16 points from the same number of matches.

WICKET! Deepak Chahar has struck early to remove Alex Hales for just two runs, as Suresh Raina completes a fantastic catch at cover-point.

Put in to bat, SRH found it hard to get going with the ball swinging around quite a bit. "Yusuf's soar so Hooda comes in for him".

While Thakur, who had impressive figures of 1/22 in his four overs against Rajasthan, is set to feature in the playing XI against Hyderabad, Willey's inclusion look hard as the English pacer leaked 47 runs bagging a wicket. The bowlers, led by India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, were terrific till the last game when Rishabh Pant took them on with a whirlwind unbeaten 128. Even a turn to the spinners - Shakib Al Hasan and Rashid Khan - couldn't stop the duo; Chennai scored 53 off the Power Play, and 93 by the end of the tenth over. CSK, in this case, will have to tighten the bowling.

Kane Williamson has been remarkably consistent for SRH and with a return to form for Shikhar Dhawan, SRH batting looks far more formidable. While Suresh Raina, Shane Watson and Dhoni all made valuable contributions, it was the death bowling that let Chennai down again, and as Dhoni pointed out, the likes of David Willey, Shardul Thakur and Dwayne Bravo needed to execute their plans better.
