After Congress' annoucement that they will stake claim to form government in Goa, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejaswi Yadav on Thursday said that the party MLAs will meet Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 17 to stake claim to form the goverment in the State. "The rule should be equal for everyone but what we are seeing here is that rules are being bent for a single party", Leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Yadav said in a tweet on Thursday.

Hours after Yeddyurappa was sworn in, the Congress units in Goa, Manipur, and Meghalaya and, in Bihar, RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav - former deputy chief minister and son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad - said they would meet the Governors of these states and ask for being invited to form government on the same grounds as applied in Karnataka. The RJD, with 80 seats was the single largest party in the State.

"The Congress is also preparing to demand the "Karnataka model" in neigbouring Goa, where it couldn't form a government a year ago despite emerging as the single largest party".

In Manipur, once again Congress was the single largest victor with 25 seats but the BJP that had 21 seats was able to form the government with the help other smaller parties.

Later in the day, opposition parties in two more states stake claim to form the government.

In 2017, the Congress and the BJP secured 17 and 13 seats respectively in Goa.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav declaring that he will parade his party's MLA before the Governor of Bihar.

He was referring to the decision of Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala to invite the BJP to form the government after the Assembly election results declared on Wednesday. "It's dictatorship by BJP", he said while addressing a press conference. JD (U) won 71 seats, while the BJP won 53. "We are in majority in Goa as well as Bihar". Mridula Sinha, a former BJP women's wing in-charge, then invited to form the government. When pointed out that the Congress needs support of at least 21 legislators to stake the claim, he said that once the governor swears in the Congress chief minister, he will be able to prove his majority on the floor of the House.

The Congress will give Sinha a letter containing signatures of 16 party MLAs, reported news agency PTI. "We should get the opportunity now", said Singh.

The Congress now has 16 members in the Goa Assembly as one of its legislators Vishwajeet Rane joined the BJP previous year.

The move comes at a time when Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar has been away for medical treatment for over two months, leaving the state without an active CM and making everyone from the allies to the opposition members restless.

The Congress and Janata Dal (S) together showed a strength of 117 legislators with the support of one MLA from the Bahujan Samaj Party and one independent, crossing the half-way mark.
