The Trump campaign paid another $13,500 to McDermott Will & Emery, a firm that represents Cohen in the ongoing Russian Federation investigations and a newly revealed criminal inquiry.

Gov. Pete Ricketts' re-election campaign has raised almost $2.3 million over the course of the 2018 election cycle and had almost $1.7 million in cash on hand April 1.

Besides increasing money due to his effort, money for campaigns have also amassed using all the Republican National Committee, which utilizes that capital. They have spent $3.9 million and reported have $28.3 million cash on hand.

Trump filed for re-election the day he took office, an unusual move for an incumbent president.

Daniels filed a lawsuit in March seeking to invalidate a 2016 agreement to keep secret a decade-old alleged sexual encounter with Trump in exchange for $130,000.

Trump chose - unlike their predecessors - to begin to actively engage in fundraising at the beginning of his first term. Former President Barack Obama had been in office more than two years before he headlined his first re-election fundraiser.

Two others firms - Harding LLP and Larocca, Hornik, Rosen, Greenberg & Blaha, which are involved in the legal fight with Daniels - were paid a combined $280,000. The firm previously received payments from the campaign totaling $30,500 in October and November, an earlier filing shows.

The campaign spent another $58,000 on costs listed as "rent" divided between three recipients: Trump Plaza, Trump Restaurants and Trump Tower.

Prosecutors said in a Friday court hearing that Cohen has been the target of a months-long federal investigation in NY, separate from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe of Russian interference in the US elections. The campaign also paid $13, 468 to the law firm of McDermott, Will, and Emery, where Stephen Ryan, the attorney for Trump's longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen, works.

That was a big increase over the last quarter of 2017, when the three committees together raised $12.5 million.

He continues to energize small-dollar donors, FEC filings show.
