If your child hasn't got into your preferred school, here's what you can do.

Matt Clayton, Admissions and Education Planning Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said in a report to councillors: "The local authority considers the proposals to be the most appropriate available solution to the expected shortage of primary school places in this area of Lincoln".

Overall, 99 per cent were offered one of their ranked primary schools.

The survey of more than 1,000 users of parent network Mumsnet took place ahead of today, when parents discover which primary school their child will attend.

Brennan said it was always a hard choice "We'd love to be in the classroom" but teachers knew the walkout was a battle worth fighting.

More children are now getting their first choice primary school because of Brexit, London councils have said.

All 467 East Riding residents who applied for their children to transfer from an infant school to Year 3 at one of the six junior schools got places at the school named as their first preference.
