Kellyanne Conway: Comey 'Gutter' in His Criticisms of Trump

The White House and Republican National Committee have launched a widespread campaign to undermine Comey's credibility as he conducts a media blitz to promote his book, "A Higher Calling: Truth, Lies, and Leadership", which is set to be released Tuesday.

Mr Trump's adviser Kellyanne Conway accused Mr Comey of peddling a "revisionist version of history" and sinking into the "gutter" with petty comments about the size of Mr Trump's hands and the length of his tie.

McCabe's attorney has asserted publicly that emails show "that Mr. McCabe advised Director Comey that he was working with colleagues at the Federal Bureau of Investigation to correct inaccuracies before the stories were published, and that they remained in contact through the weekend while the interactions with the reporter continued".

Comey, who maintains that both he and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are impartial, has said during congressional testimony that he was uncomfortable with the President's desire to meet with him alone and his alleged request for Comey's personal loyalty.

"All Jim Comey had to do was keep his mouth shut. I don't think so, '" she said. "He could just ignore all of this".

"His people in his household wanted the other person to win", Conway added.

'I don't think he's medically unfit to be president'. Point I made on 3 shows is that we are supposed to believe THIS guy swung an election?

In a follow up tweet, Kellyanne Conway responded to a tweet by Chris Cuomo where the CNN host agreed that she was being sarcastic about James Comey having swung the election. "It's possible", said Comey. "I don't know. These are more words I never thought I'd utter about a president of the United States, but it's possible", said Comey, who was sacked by Trump on May 9, 2017.
