(This report suggests he's not yet confirmed to direct, either, though it's not out of the question.) Perhaps his A Quiet Place co-star, Emily Blunt, who also happens to be his wife, might be up for some Martian exploration?

The likes of Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are re-joining the director for his next movie, which is now in negotiations to be picked up by Paramount.

There is no scribe attached as yet and Krasinski, at this stage, is not expected to star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Krasinski and his Quiet Place producers (who include Michael Bay) will re-team for a Sci-Fi thriller titled Life on Mars. One day this woman finds that she can uniquely breath Mars' atmosphere. The pic is not only a box-office hit but a critical one as well, sitting with a 96 percent score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. While I've yet to see A Quiet Place, it sounds like Krasinski is a very skilled director, so it will be fun to see what he does with the science fiction genre if he does end up in the director's chair.

It hasn't been an overnight journey and Krasinski made it the old-fashioned way, taking small steps and learning as he went. His previous directed films include his 2009 debut "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men", based on a collection of short stories by David Foster Wallace, and "The Hollars" in 2016, which he also starred in.

Long before meeting Emily Blunt in person, dating her and marrying her, the former "The Office" actor became obsessed with the British actress through her work in the 2006 film "The Devil Wears Prada". The film about a dysfunctional clan brought together by the life-threatening illness of its beloved matriarch earned $1 million at the box office.

Even though Krasinski is working on this next, he will be seen sooner, in Amazon's Jack Ryan series based off of the Tom Clancy novels.
