Fantastic Weather Today, Strong Storms Saturday

The rain will come to an end by mid Sunday morning.

This afternoon NW winds gust up to 25-30 miles per hour. And, with a saturated ground and top-heavy trees that have leafed out, it's not impossible that a couple of trees are uprooted this afternoon. Sunday will be a washout with rainfall totals ultimately reaching 1"-2"+ inches across the area".

It's another summer-like day for us, but with a few more clouds. Afternoon highs will make their way into the upper 50s and low 60s. After a chilly start to the morning, afternoon highs should rebound to the upper 60s. Some of the storms can become severe.

Things will begin to turn on Tuesday, with rain gradually clearing eastwards, and showers following for the rest of the day.

Thursday's forecast calls for a high of 78 with a low of 59. Lingering showers will extend all the way into Sunday morning though.

We'll be watching for a line of storms to move into our area from the northwest.

A cold front arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing some slightly cooler air and N winds to Texoma for Wednesday. Regardless, stay weather aware.and have a way of getting severe weather alerts Sunday night (because many of you may be sleeping).

The risk of severe weather is lower for Sunday, although there is a small risk as instability increases in the afternoon in east central Georgia. Southerly wind 5-10 miles per hour. More unsettled weather is expected in the latter half of the week with the best chance of rain expected next Saturday. While we have a pretty good idea about where the strongest storms may develop, figuring out which one storm will be the strongest isn't possible.

Plenty of sun, breezy and MUCH COOLER.
