Ed Sheeran slams “bollocks” story about building railings to deter rough sleepers outside his home

Universal Pictures has announced that they will wide release the forthcoming untitled Danny Boyle musical comedy on Friday, September 13, 2019.

As well as featuring musical material from The Beatles' vast catalogue of hits, new music will also be written for the film which Sheeran is also said to be involved with. Sheeran already had cameos in The Bastard Executioner, Game of Thrones, and Bridget Jones' Baby, so this would be a continuation of his push into film and TV. The news comes from the pages of the Daily Mail in the United Kingdom, who say that Sheeran is set to play the new comedy - tentatively titled All You Need Is Love.

Ed Sheeran is in talks to appear opposite Lily James in Danny Boyle's new music-themed movie.

The 27-year-old took to Instagram on Sunday to address the writer of the piece, Natalie Edwards, and claimed her story was "bollocks".

There are no further details about Sheeran's supposed involvement in the film, which doesn't have a title yet. "If anyone can make a film about the Beatles' songs even better musically, it's him".

Sheeran is a known fan of The Beatles, having once performed an acoustic cover of "In My Life" in front of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (see footage of that below).

Hot off the presses comes news this morning that superstar musician Ed Sheeran is set to join the Richard Curtis scripted and Danny Boyle directed musical comedy now in development. There is now no other major release scheduled for that date, although it will be competing against the second week of IT: Chapter Two, which opens September 6, 2019.
