A gun was reportedly found on the scene.

Set to enter his third National Football League season, Worley was acquired from the Carolina Panthers this offseason for veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was tasered and arrested early Sunday morning when he became "combative with police", according to a report from Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Worley, 23, was a third-round draft pick by the Panthers in 2016.

The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m on Sunday.

Worley pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge during his college career at West Virginia, and the Panthers made a decision to move on from the young defensive back after two seasons. While he was in college at West Virginia, he entered a no contest plea and was given a six-month suspended sentence for an altercation with a woman outside a nightclub.

Les Bowen, who covers the Philadelphia Eagles for the Philadelphia Daily News and The Philadelphia Inquirer, reported that he believes the Eagles are now in position to release Worley, who has two years remaining on his contract.
