Just one week after missing the cut, Stenson maintained his lead through Round 3 with a one-shot advantage over up-and-comer Bryson DeChambeau.

Rose, warming up nicely for the Masters where the Englishman was runner-up a year ago, also made a 67, and with the American Ryan Moore (69) was a stroke back on eight under par in a group including Fowler, who managed a 70 despite dropping three strokes on the last two holes. Yes, he will have to blow past not only Stenson, but also the likes of Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose - the latter who was paired with Woods Saturday and bested him by two strokes.

He finished the first round of the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational four under par, making this the second consecutive week in which Woods has at one point led a PGA Tour event.

Woods posted two outward half bogeys and two inward nine birdies in a level par 72 to remain at four under par.

"I think every week I'm good enough to win or play my best", he said after a second round 66.

Englishman Rose (67) and American Ryan Moore (69) were a stroke back on nine-under.

Talor Gooch is two off the lead and one ahead of Byeong Hun An.

He'll have to chase down Stenson, who is alone atop the leader board at 12-under 204 after shooting a one-under 71.

Sweden's Henrik Stenson made nine birdies against a lone bogey to open on 64 to seize the clubhouse lead.Jimmy Walker, the 2016 PGA Championship victor.

He simply needs to gain a bit more consistency in order to move up the leaderboard, as his three bogeys prevented what could have been an outstanding day.

Here's a look at how Tiger closed out Round 3 with a birdie.

McIlroy believes he has to raise his game to match Woods', citing his brilliance on the putting green as the main area where he needs to pick up, and it was one of the key differences between them at Bay Hill. "I've been hitting it really close this week", Stenson said of his key to success.

"I've got to go deep tomorrow", he added.

Woods, whose last tournament victory came in the 2013 Bridgestone Invitational, told Sky Sports: "I've gotten the feel of playing tournament rounds".

The 14-time Major champion, an eight-time victor at Bay Hill, is on the comeback trail after spinal fusion surgery last April. "I've got a headache after all that".

"Today was just a bad day", he said to media after the round.

A victory on Sunday could get him back on track, and it would be his first worldwide victory since his incredible performance at the 2016 TOUR Championship.

"Maybe a low one tomorrow will give me a chance to kind of steal one from behind", said Woods. He also made a few mistakes that slowed his momentum and caught some tough lies in the bunkers, but still managed to have his ninth straight round at par or better.
