Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will get Android 8.0 Oreo update

Although the leaked list, which first revealed which Samsung devices will get the Oreo update, included the Note 5, a confirmation from T-Mobile holds more value. U.S. carrier T-Mobile recently updated the support pages for Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5 with information about future software updates.

The Android Oreo update comes with 9.0 on top of it. Will all the devices receive the Oreo update or just the T-mobile variants?

It's also unclear whether the Oreo update will be rolled-out to all 2015 Samsung flagship variants or only the T-Mobile variants of the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and the Galaxy Note 5.

Well, it is still unclear whether the other networks in the United States and the original global variants of the devices will get the update, as there is no any confirmation on this as of the current time.

Oreo updates for the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note 5 would be a pretty big deal. According to SamMobile, the Oreo update for beta testers has a file size of 487MB and arrives with the latest February security patch. However, the new Oreo update is now officially available for both, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.

Are any of you still rocking a Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, or Note?

It can be said with certainty that flagship devices will receive a significant OS update at least once in their life cycle, but the same doesn't apply to older and non-flagship devices.

A few other sources also claim that the official Android Oreo update for the listed devices will begin rolling out from this current month itself to the devices. The Oreo rollout for the Galaxy S8 has already kicked off in Germany, and we should see this spread to other regions fairly soon.

One thing we can say with certainty is that they'll very likely be the last in the queue to receive the updates.
