This is Modi's second visit to UAE since he became the Prime Minister.

Earlier, addressing the Indian diaspora at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Oman's capital, Modi said the ties of India and Oman have always remained strong despite the ups and downs in the political environment in both the countries.

The two countries also signed an agreement on cooperation between Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs, India and Oman's Diplomatic Institute.

Prime Minister also formally laid foundation of first Hindu temple in UAE through teleconferencing.

The historically Muslim country already has one Hindu temple in the nearby emirate of Dubai.

A day after the historic visit to Palestine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) temple project, the first Hindu temple to be built in Abu Dhabi.

Between Oman and India, the relations are age-old and goes back thousands of years.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of World Government Summit of which India is a guest country.

"We discussed regional and global developments that have a role in peace in the world and in the region", Bloomberg reported the prime minister as saying, as he stood alongside Abbas. He later showed gratitude to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohamed bin Zayed Ali Nahyan on behalf of 125 crore Indians for the construction of the very big temple. From there he visited UAE and arrived in Oman on Sunday afternoon. "This is an honour for India and a symbol of Palestine's friendship". The Prime Minister spoke at length about the economic opportunities in India and the series of reforms undertaken in the last 3.5 years.

The diversity of India can not be found elsewhere in the world.

Modi also thanked the UAE which provided nearly 30 lakh people from India a home like environment, away from home.

He said India had reached 100 in Ease of Doing Business rankings, from 142, four years ago.

"The temple will be a testimony to UAE's commitment to tolerance and harmony", said the Indian PM.
