Produced by Akshay's wife Twinkle Khanna along with SPE Films India, KriArj Entertainment, Cape of Good Films and Hope Productions, it also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo appearance.

Padman is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a school drop-out who invented a machine to manufacture sanitary pads at a fraction of the cost of branded ones.

If the movie manages to mint even double or triple of the first day collections, it appears that the movie can easily enter the 80 crore club within 2-3 weeks. Here's what our Editor-in-Chief, Tushar Joshi had to say about the film - Pad Man deserves a special mention simply because it got made. But now, With positive mouth talk, many people are rushing to the film which is why the film has grossed more on its second day instead of its first day, Saturday is the second factor for the rise of income. When asked about the clash between the two films; superstar Akshay Kumar denied the chances of a clash citing the excess number of theatres in the country. The movie is going to be a good deal at the box office and surely you all are going to love this flick for sure.

Film reviewer Sriram Ray thinks Padman could be Akshay's sixth successive movie to gross more than '100 crore. Witnessing minor growth in the public occupancy, the Hindi celluloid raked in Rs 13.50 crore on 2nd day of its release.

The National Film Award winner's magic has worked again and we wouldn't be surprised if PadMan shatters all the records at the box office.

It is a hard and uncomfortable subject to make a film on, that too a full length feature, and even if you are above the stigma situation escorting the good old pad stuck in the nether part of a woman's anatomy, it still makes you a bit shifty to see it on the big, bold screen. The social drama has managed to earn rave reviews from both critics and fans and this is even reflecting at the box office.
