U.S. can not undermine Iran nuclear deal: Rouhani

Instead I have outlined two possible paths forward: "either fix the deal's disastrous flaws or the United States will withdraw", the president said in a statement.

Trump is calling for the deal to allow "immediate inspections" by the USA; to "ensure that Iran never even comes close to possessing a nuclear weapon;" to ensure the deal lasts "forever;" and that not only nuclear testing but also long-range missile testing be "subject to severe sanctions" in the deal.

Iranian foreign ministry says it will not accept any changes to nuclear deal after Trump's latest threat to withdraw.

"This is a last chance", he added.

Iran says its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes. The official said his action on Friday "will be the last such waiver he will issue".

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker has been working on amending a USA law to include "trigger points" that if crossed by Iran would automatically bring back U.S. sanctions.

Bhala, the Brenneisen Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law, said the announcement is important in that "it preserves the July 2015 Nuclear Deal, for now, which the other countries in the deal also support".

Sanctions against Tehran were lifted in 2015 under the landmark nuclear deal signed between the Islamic Republic and six world powers. "We are also targeting Iran's ballistic missile program and destabilizing activities, which it continues to prioritize over the economic well-being of the Iranian people".

Tehran has responded to the latest USA sanctions over Iran's alleged human rights abuses and ballistic missile program.

Iran said yesterday it would retaliate against sanctions imposed on its judiciary head by the United States, as US President Donald Trump stepped up efforts to "fix" a nuclear deal between Teheran and major powers.

One senior administration official said Mr Trump would be open to remaining in a modified deal if it were made permanent. But, oddly, particularly for the Europeans, the unrest in Iran is an even stronger reason for sticking with the deal.

Iran must allow "immediate inspections at all sites requested by worldwide inspectors", he said, and "sunset" provisions imposing limits on Iran's nuclear programme must not expire.

"While Britain may move to support the USA on this, Germany and France are likely to be strongly opposed", he said.

On October 13, 2017, the US current President Donald Trump refused to confirm Iran was implementing the nuclear deal.

Trump had lengthy discussions on Thursday with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, national security adviser HR McMaster and others about the deal, which was reached during the presidency of Democrat Barack Obama.

In October, Trump said that he would not certify the deal, a dramatic but largely ceremonial gesture that he is expected to repeat this week. There are about 400 International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors in Iran, and they indicate Iran is complying with the deal.
