Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday announced its partnership with eight online platforms in a move to push sales of its range of products. Patanjali Ayurved said in a statement that its e-commerce platform www.patanjaliayurved.net "yielded good dividend and response at trial stage itself" with online sales crossing Rs. 10 crore mark in December.

Haridwar-based Patanjali has also entered into agreements with e-retailers such as Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, Bigbasket and Grofers, among others, to sell its products through their platforms.

"We have been successful in delivering orders of Patanjali products to over 10 lakh people per day", Ramdev said here addressing the launch event. At the very least, the move is sure to help Patanjali carve out a bigger market share - the company is now ranked number 7 in the FMCG space - and meet its turnover target of Rs 20,000 crore for this fiscal year, a twofold growth year-on-year. "We shall promote exports of Ayurveda globally". During this, Baba Ramdev said that now Patanjali will grow towards becoming a not for profit company.

He said the company and its e-commerce partners would ensure that Patanjali products are sold at MRP and not at discounts.

According to the company, the export unit will facilitate export of Patanjali swadeshi products to the UAE, the US, Cananda, Europe, South America, African countries besides others.

Ramdev said the online system intends to offer convenient and efficient alternative along with the extension of the traditional retail market.
