Lindy Lou Layman appeared in a Houston courtroom Tuesday after being charged with felony criminal mischief for the December 23 incident in the home of attorney Tony Buzbee. Prosecutors from the Harris County District Attorney's Office said Layman was on a first date with Buzbee, the Houston Chronicle reported. But she refused to leave, and hid inside his home. Buzbee located her and called her a second Uber, but she allegedly became aggressive.

If the 29-year-old Laymen is convicted, the penalty for the first-degree charge of criminal mischief could range from five years up to life in prison. That's when she allegedly poured red wine on his paintings and ripped them off the wall, then threw his sculptures on the ground.

Layman's defence attorney, Justin Keiter, told local media that: "'We certainly disagree with Mr Buzbee's rendition of the facts when he spoke to the media and we disagree with what was said in probable cause court".

At the time of Layman's arrest, the damage was estimated to be about $300,000. According to details that came out in court, Layman and Buzbee were on a date when she became heavily intoxicated and they returned to his home. ABC reports the judge issued standard conditions and a no contact order. He represented former Texas Gov. Rick Perry in an abuse-of-power case, held a fundraiser for Donald Trump during his presidential campaign previous year, and donated $250,000 to Trump's campaign.
