Should Sako have been awarded a penalty? Should Sako have been awarded a penalty

Bakary Sako's 21st minute goal was enough to give Crystal Palace victory over Burnley following a battling performance in SE25.

He was convinced he should have had an 11th minute penalty when he was sent crashing by Tarkoswki's risky challenge which appeared to take out both man and ball at pretty much the same time.

The Mali worldwide cut in powerfully from the left after good work by Christian Benteke and then drilled a left-footed shot that went straight through Clarets goalkeeper Nick Pope. After a last minute defeat toLiverpool, and draws with Huddersfield Town andManchester United before that, Dyche will be hoping his side can get back to winning ways on Saturday.

The hosts were working all angles, with Zaha in-particular proving elusive as he popped up left, right and centre, and it was the former Manchester United winger's delivery that was desperately defended by Tarkowski at the near post as Sakho pounced.

Christian Benteke was fractionally off target with a towering header from Luka Milivojevic's 28th minute corner as Palace continued to dominate. Chris Wood, Johann Gudmundsson and Ashley will be taking charge on the break when the opportunity for Burnley arises.

It was Palace who finished the half strongly and could have been out of sight at the interval.

Benteke's flick from a Patrick van Aanholt shot was clawed away by Pope before Sako came within inches of doubling Palace's advantage with a vicious volley across the face of goal just before half-time. "You look at the players they have and they are a better side than results in the early part of the season showed, and that's been proved by Roy (Hodgson) and his staff".

Spurs winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou was handed his debut just after the hour and the substitute handed the Clarets the lift that they had craved. Captain Ben Mee flung himself bravely to brilliantly deny James McArthur on the goal-line.
