NBA trade rumors 76ers sending Jahlil Okafor to Nets

Jahlil Okafor is finally getting out of Philadelphia.

Booker, the 76ers' reward, was averaging just over 10 points and two assists in 18 games played this season.

A source with knowledge confirmed that the team has agreed to send the reserve center along with reserve shooting guard Nik Stauskas and a second round pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Trevor Booker. While the 76ers probably would have liked to received a little more in return for someone they drafted so high just two years ago, they are adding a solid veteran to their mix of young talent. Boston has until Friday to use their $8.4 million DPE to acquire a player whom they could trade again at the deadline on February 8, so there is still a possibility of movement around the league.

A first-team All-NBA Rookie team member following the 2015-16 season, Okafor averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 30 minutes a night in 53 games during his rookie season.

Okafor, the third overall pick of the 2015 draft, was expected to be a linchpin of the Sixers' rebuilding process, but he has been grasping for minutes due to the strong play of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Robert Covington.

In Booker, Philadelphia will add a veteran forward averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in his eighth National Basketball Association season.
