Lonzo Ball helps Lakers beat 76ers 107-104

With under a second remaining on the clock, Ingram sized up a 3-pointer fresh off a nice Lonzo Ball dish to beat the 76ers 107-104 on the road.

Ingram scored 21 points and made two three-pointers, including the game's dagger.

Evetually, Imbrid missed a key shot that could've potentially put them up against the Lakers.

Agent Harrison Gaines represents all three of Ball's sons, including Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo. That left Brandon Ingram wide open on the wing. "(Ball) sucked the defense in and kicked it out. "He is a great passer, rebounder and does all the little things".

Much of that relative effectiveness stemmed from a top-five defense in the league, as the Lakers allowed only 100.3 points per 100 possessions in the time between the season opener and November 21. "Brandon showed a lot of guts to be able to knock down that 3 at the end". The Lakers (9-15) snapped a five-game losing streak by upsetting the Sixers (13-11). But Ball almost had a triple-double of his own with 10 points, eight assists and eight rebounds to go with four blocks and three steals.

"I feel he plays the right way", Ball added. "It's always fun playing like that, though".

Embiid led the way for Philadelphia with 33 points on 11-for-17 shooting, seven rebounds, six assists, five blocks and a steal. Ball did not get to play against top pick Markelle Fultz because of Fultz's shoulder injury. "I didn't do that tonight".

"Embiid! Come on boy!" After a timeout, Richaun Holmes' tying attempt at the buzzer was way off.

Embiid had 15 points in the first 24 minutes to lead Philadelphia, while Covington had 13.

The Lakers, up just 75-70 at that point, responded with the last four points of the quarter, on Caldwell-Pope's layup and a follow shot by Andrew Bogut.

The Lakers and Sixers have played each other twice this season, and both encounters have proved, if nothing else, that these two teams play some entertaining highlight basketball against one another.

All three committed four turnovers, though, contributing to a night of unforced errors in which the Sixers coughed it up 18 times leading to 25 Laker points. "Don't be scared, I got your ass now", LaVar said with a big smile.

T.J. Warren had 23 points for Phoenix.
