The Supreme Court of Liberia has finally ruled out that there will be "No Rerun" citing the lack of sufficient evidence, and further ordered the National Elections Commission to make all preparations that will accelerate the runoff election.

The decision effectively ends the presidential bid of the Liberty Party's Charles Brumskine, who finished third when voting was held in November with 10 percent of the vote count.

The party claimed that the exercise was marred by massive irregularities and fraud, and thus fell short of the minimum standards of credibility.

Associate Justice Philip A.Z. Banks, who read the court's final ruling, said while the complainants presented evidence that showed that NEC had violated certain aspects of the law, they failed to show that the evidence pervaded the entire elections or in most parts of the country.

Today's decision will determine whether the nation will go for a re-un of the 10 October polls, or march ahead with the delayed run-off between the Coalition for Democratic Change or CDC and the ruling Unity Party or UP.

The date of the run - off will be determined and announced by the electoral commission which has been ordered by the Supreme Court to conduct critical reforms before the next election.

He said, the Supreme Court can not speculate that since it was proven that fraud and irregularities occurred at some polling places, it occurred Nationwide.

It also prohibited the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners of NEC and other employees of commission from public utterances and pronouncements relating to any matter that may emanate from the run-off.

The second-round vote between soccer star George Weah and Vice President Joseph Boakai had been put on hold last month after the Liberty Party alleged irregularities in the first round of voting on October 10.
