Packers QB Brett Hundley suffers hamstring injury

The Green Bay Packers' already-thin backfield took another hit Sunday against the Chicago Bears, as running back Ty Montgomery was ruled out for the game after suffering an injury to his ribs. In one whirling motion, he hugged Aaron Rodgers so hard it looked like it might crack the former MVP's already-dodgy collarbone.

The Packers needed to respond, and they did. Their 23-16 victory over the Bears wasn't necessarily a thing of beauty - it was more of the grind-it-out variety - but Hundley made just enough plays to make everyone around him feel a little better about their chance to stay relevant until Rodgers could possibly return in the final three weeks of the regular season.

"It feels fantastic", Hundley said. The Packers had Brett Hundley starting in place of the injured Aaron Rodgers, and the Bears were starting a rookie.

"He was upset but he kind of took over and said, 'Screw it, forget about what we got hurt on earlier, that was on me".

"I thought statistically and poise-wise, in handling situations, I thought his play was probably the best to date", coach John Fox said.

The win was Green Bay's first since a narrow victory at Dallas on October 8.

But quarterback Brett Hundley wasted no time going to work, hitting Davante Adams for 18 yards over the middle on the first snap. The Bears were driving, but facing a third-and-13 from the Packers 25-yard line.

Chris Emma of 670 The Score joins Sports Feed on Monday to discuss what he saw from the team on Sunday and what could be ahead for the Bears. "Just do this, and I'll make sure we're right, '" Linsley said.

That seemed like a long shot after Week 9, but Hundley's flawless fourth quarter and the veteran accuracy he displayed connecting with Adams suggest it might not be such a bad bet after all.

McCarthy blamed poor communication by himself for the Packers wasting a timeout at the end of the first quarter. Check out NFL Sunday Ticket or NFL Game Pass.

Green Bay had a fourth down at its own 29.
