'One Tree Hill' showrunner Mark Schwahn is accused of sexual harassment

Numerous men of One Tree Hill, including Bryan Greenberg, Austin Nichols, and James Lafferty, are showing support for the female cast and crew members accusing the show's creator, Mark Schwahn, of sexual harassment and physical and emotional manipulation.

"To use terminology that has become familiar as the systemic reality of sexual harassment and assault has come more and more to light, Mark Schwahn's behavior over the duration of the filming of One Tree Hill was something of an 'open secret, '" the letter said.

Schwahn made and officially created One Tree Hill - an arrangement that kept running for eight arrangement in the vicinity of 2003 and 2012 - and in addition The Royals.

The letter stated that women on the show were "manipulated psychologically and emotionally".

In the letter, 18 of the show's female cast and crew members - including Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Lenz - banded together to share a joint statement about the way they were allegedly treated and spoken to when they worked with Schwahn, claiming that some of the women have been so deeply affected by the alleged experience of working with him that they are still receiving treatment for post-traumatic stress more than five years after the series ended.

Now, in their open letter, Sophia, Hilarie and castmate Bethany Joy Lenz have been joined by crew members all accusing Schwahn of treating them in ways that were "traumatizing" and "downright illegal".

At the time of writing, Schwahn representatives haven't responded to any news outlets request for comment from what we can see.

Schwahn now acts as showrunner for The Royals.

On Monday, a spokesperson for E! told CNN, "We are monitoring the information carefully". "E!, Universal Cable Productions and Lionsgate Television are focused on giving a protected workplace in which everybody is dealt with deferentially and professionally". The details she revealed combined with fan reactions made it clear she was condemning one person: One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn.

Lafferty also took to Twitter to post a full statement on how he applauds "every woman on OTH. who stands up to a system that has failed them". Wauchope alleged that she was subjected to unwanted touching by the unnamed showrunner, and that she saw the showrunner show off naked photographs of an actress he was dating without the actress's knowledge. And a few of us were put in positions where we felt physically unsafe. He pet hair. He massaged shoulders.

The Weinstein scandal continues to make a ripple effect in the industry as more actresses and actors are speaking up about the harassment they've sustained in their careers.

In an unprecedented show of unity on a television series or movie, almost all of the show's core cast-as well as some crew members-have shown support for the female cast and crew after the letter was published. Hahahaha we said. That's insane. "We also understood that no one was fully unaware [of what was happening on the set]", they continued.
