The man made a decision to drift into unconsciousness rather than tap out in the main event of UFC 217 and, just days later, when a potential USADA violation removed Anderson Silva from his scheduled 185lbs clash with Kelvin Gastelum, Bisping wanted to get back to doing what he does best. But it won't be the last we'll see of the 38-year-old as Bisping has a different date in mind for his retirement bout.

"Again, I have nothing against China, they are a lovely race of people".

Anderson Silva has finally broken his silence following his removal from this month's UFC Shanghai card.

. I would love to be on that.

But anyway, I can only thank him and all of you for the love and affection.

With one foot out of the door, Bisping is already looking at his mixed martial arts career with pride.

No details have yet been revealed as to the nature of this recent potential violation, but after being replace by Michael Bisping in the fight, Silva issued the following statement, indicating that he isn't prepared to let this latest incident end his career.

Silva and Gastelum had been slated to meet in the Octagon at UFC 212 last June, but Gastelum was pulled from the fight after testing positive to marijuana.

It'll be a homecoming of sorts for Bisping, who was born in Manchester, England, and has his sights set on retiring after a fight in London in March.

"The Spider" was long considered the greatest middleweight, if not the greatest fighter, of all time. I'm here to thank all my fans, especially my coaches and all the contributors for this long journey. "I'm a very happy man", Bisping said. "It was fun though, I was enjoying the process", says GSP. "Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward". I don't know exactly the plans of God for me.

"I'm taking this fight just (because) you're only as good as your last fight, and last week's fight didn't go according to plan".
