BJP slams Asaduddin Owaisi over remarks against Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

"We have not received any proposal for talks or any formula from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar".

"Making sarcastic remarks and questioning its integrity are unwarranted", BJP leader S Prakash told ANI.

Last month, Sri Sri had met Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chief Wasim Rizvi in Bengaluru regarding the issue.

Earlier, Owaisi had said, "All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has clearly stated that they would not accept any such offer".

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar responded saying, "You don't think you are sick or something is wrong with you".

Raising objection to the stand taken by Rizvi, who had said that a temple be built on the disputed site, Rehmani stressed that the chairman of any board does not have the authority to hand over any disputed site to any party.

As per reports, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had earlier met the representatives of Nirmohi Akhara and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) to help find an out-of-court settlement to the dispute.

"The VHP respects Sri Sri Ravishankar but he should know that efforts in this regard in the past, in which prime ministers, governments and Shankaracharya were also involved, failed to give any result", he said.

The Shia Central Waqf Board had recently staked claim to the Babri mosque, maintaining that it was a Shia mosque and has also impleaded itself as a in the Ayodhya case by submitting a 30-page affidavit to the Supreme Court on August 8. Later, Sunni Board had filed a case in Supreme Court which will hear the land dispute case on day to day basis from December 5. The proposed settlement's first page cover has a picture of two old men - one attired in yellow with a tilak on forehead and the other in whites - embracing each other, with an artistic impression of the proposed Ram Temple and a photograph of Babri Masjid in the background.
